Should I be worried about my teenage driver?

Just this last Sunday, this is what I heard:

“Hey Scott, I get my temps in less than a month!”

“Hey i get my licensce in 10 days…or 17. I’m pretty sure I’m going to knock over the cones!”

And so as waves of fear washed over me, I begin to imagine how it must feel for parents. Then I get online today and find this article about teen drivers.

So parents of driving teens, know that I am praying for you.  I am already dreading the day when my little girls wants to go look at cars!!!

It’s that serious…

Here in Ohio, a 15 year old student is being charged with child pornography charges.  The interesting thing in this whole ordeal…she took pictures of herself!

A Newark Licking Valley Student was arrested and charged with taking pictures of herself in the nude and sending them to classmates. Read the article here

Just another warning:  Make sure your teenagers understand the responsibility that comes with their cell phone!

Wish you had more control over how your teen drives?

As a parent do you ever worry about how fast your teen drives?  Do they obey the speed limit?  Do they wear their seatbelt?  Do they have the radio turned up to loud?

Well, you are not alone…apparently.  Starting in 2010, Ford Motor Company will have a feature on their vehicles called “MyKey”.  Using the computer chip that is in most car keys today, a parent will be able to set the maximum speed limit at 80 mph, cause a continuous noise when the seatbelt is not engaged, and have other controls set…like radio volume.

Interesting idea. It will be fun to watch this develop over time.  You can read the entire article here
