Teen Pregnancy hits 15 year record high

22 out of 1000.  22 out of 1000 15-17 year old girls became pregnant in 2006, which is an increase from 21 out of 1000 in 2005.  Interesting article about it here. 

It seems that people are beginning to realize that it is not only unhealthy for the teenage girls, but it also will affect the lives of that teenager and their child for the next 20 years at least.

So the question is, What do we do about it?  I have some ideas of my own…

Get out the old tent, and have your teen join us under the stars Friday, July 18, we will be camping out here on the property of Sycamore Creek Church.  We’ll hang out, play some games, make smores, and have a good time.  So you don’t want your teen to miss this.  Who doesn’t love the stars?  Who doesn’t love hanging out?  And who doesn’t love sleeping on the ground…ok well maybe not that one.  But, we’ll have fun!

Here is the info you need to know-
                              When: Friday, July 18th at 7pm – Saturday, July 19th at noon
                              Where: Sycamore Creek Church (meet at the office)
                              Cost: $5 per person (covers snacks, smores, and breakfast)
                              What to bring:  Tent (if you have one), sleeping bag, pillow, clothes for night and
                                                          morning, flashlight, bug spray, etc.

                                                  So invite your friends, and let’s have a good time!!!

Looking for Camping Supplies

On Friday July 18, we will be having a Youth Camp Out at Sycamore Creek.  We need a few supplies for the event:

1. Camping Stove – to cook breakfast Saturday Morning
2. Breakfast items- eggs, sausage, hash browns, etc.
3. Tents
4. Firewood- anybody have some good firewood that we could use for our campfire?

Also, if anyone is willing to come and prepare the breakfast, that would be awesome.  i won’t ask you to sleep on the ground with us, I promise!

If you have any of these supplies, and would be willing to let us borrow them, please let me know.
