Make money for SCC…for free!

Do you google?  Do you yahoo?  We all search for things on the internet.  Well, now we have a way for Sycamore Creek Church to make money when you search.

What you need to do is instead of using google, yahoo, or msn, go to www.goodsearch.com. In the space where it asks, “Who do you GoodSearch for?”, type in Sycamore Creek Church and hit verify.  When it comes back verified (and it will), you can now use goodsearch to search the web. And Sycamore Creek will earn about one cent for every time you search. So give it a try…it won’t cost you a thing!

Do you shop online?  Would you be willing to shop at those same stores for the same prices and help raise money for Sycamore Creek Church?  All you have to do is go to www.goodshop.com and enter Sycamore Creek Church as your charity.  Then at the bottom of the page you will find links to hundreds of online stores, includin wal-mart, kohls, shutterfly, expedia, and so many more.  If you go through goodshop.com and then to those places, you will still find the same deals, and the company will donate a portion to Sycamore Creek Church.

So go online, and get your search and shop on!

MySpace- trying to make it safer!

MySpace has just reached a deal with 45 states to update their security measures in the hopes of protecting children and teens from sexual predators and pornographic sites.  Don’t really know how it will play out.

AAMOF, TXT when PAW is EZ

If you understood the title of this blog, then you are ahead of about 95% of parents. Texting is more popular with teenagers than talking on the phone.  Students would much rather text someone than call them.  And Texting has it’s own language (see title).

Do you know what your teen is saying when they type PAL (Parents are Listening) or IWSN (I want sex now)?  Listen, I know a lot of students use texting for good communication, and I know that you probably think that your student would never use it for bad, but what about the person they are talking too?  Don’t you think it would be a good idea to learn some of the lingo that they are using?

I found this website called Netlingo.com that has put together some interesting statistics on computer usage, computer safety and has also created some lists of teen text lingo so that parents can be aware of what is going over text messaging.

So go here or here RN to get the 411 or the LD so that when u r POS u can be J/C what ur student is doing OTP (now you have to go there to figure out what I just said)
